Anowar lives in his village with his family, sharing his home with his wife and children. Their life is closely intertwined with the local bamboo cluster, where he and nearly 1,000 fellow artisans collaborate to create high-quality bamboo products.
For several years, Anowar has honed his skills in bamboo crafting, specializing in is all types of bamboo products from kitchenware to home décor and other specific products. Known for his precision and dedication, he contributes to many of the cluster’s signature pieces that have already reached markets in the UK. With new support and guidance, he and his fellow artisans are now aiming to expand into the U.S. market.
Through his work, Anowar has not only preserved the traditional techniques passed down through generations but also gained exposure to international trade, learning new skills and approaches that enrich both his craft and his community. For him, the cluster is more than a place of work—it’s a source of pride, creativity, and opportunity. He looks forward to seeing the collective growth of the artisans and sharing Assam’s bamboo artistry with the world.
